University of Hertfordshire -v- London South Bank University

The South East Conference topping Hurricanes got off to a shakey start after QB Joe Thompson was sacked on the third play of the game, the Spartans recovering the impending fumble and on their first play scoring on a 14 yard touchdown strike. But this proved to be the high-water mark for LSBU as the rest of the game was marked by a relentless tide of Hurricanes pressure.
Thompson restored the balance on Hertfordshire's very next possession, capping a long drive with a five yard scoring run. The Hurricanes added a further seven touchdowns before the end of the game with two a piece from Temi Odeyemi (28 yard rush and a 2 yard rush), James Howell (8 yard rush and a 5 yard rush), and Andy Harrison (6 yard and a 7 yard reception - both from Thompson), with defensive end Emmanual Olakotan gaining the last on a 10 yard fumble recovery and return.

Olakotan also had six tackles in the game to lead a very strong defensive showing along with Thor Bengtson (8 tackles and 2 interceptions) and George Gower (5 tackles).
Hurricanes kicker, Stef Rivera, added six point-after-try kicks as the Hurricanes ran-out winners 54 to 6.
Head Coach, Jim Messenger said, "There were a few internal issues in the days leading up to the game that threatened to upset our focus. But if they did, it only lasted about two minutes. After that the team looked as good as in previous weeks, if not better. There is a really good feeling around the team and confidence is very high. We are excited about how far we can go this year and relishing the challenge of each new game."
The Hurricanes face the University of Essex Blades in their last game before the Christmas break at Hatfield on Sunday 11th December.
